I am trying to use Sumatra to view a chm help file, the navigation pane is too narrow on the chm. Is there a way to open the file to a certain topic and with the tree closed? Thanks for your help.

There are two modes for viewing CHM the default is page by page like in help viewer
The other is in advanced settings switch
ChmUI [
UseFixedPageUI = true
]
The format is not so good but sometimes helps for searching (even with navigator closed)
In both case you can drag the split for each side (within limits)
You want to open at a set location and that is possible
but when I tried to set it for calling between both modes I encounted a limitation
@kjk This is another one of those cases where using the selected string would be useful to pass (recurse) to externalviewers function
