There is no shortcut to send a mail.

Actually, every menu item has an implicit menu shortcut.

It’s Alt-F, e to trigger File/Send by E-mail
Look at the underlined letters in the menu.
Alt-F triggers File menu because F in File is underlined.
e triggers Send by E-mail because E is underlined.
