when I print the PDF file, all the open Doublequote marks are gone — (not white or invisible) — (it’s as if I didn’t put it there.)

• Did anyone else encounter this problem? ------- Is there a fix (or Workaround) ?

(using MiKTeX (LaTeX on Windows) – which is great)

• Everything looks fine on the screen (using Sumatra and other PDF viewers), but
  when i print the PDF file, all the open Doublequote marks are gone

            (Printer's previewer already shows them as missing.)

(the single-quotation marks seem to be fine. )

You do not say which version (always check the current pre-release (portable) for any difference However, since SumatraPDF does not normally do “(Printer’s previewer already shows them as missing.)” It sound like its that driver that does not understand their encoding. So which print driver are you using?
